I recently slapped together a 716 powered 65mm brushed Whoop running Silverware firmware for buzzing around my house/basement Whoop course this winter. Figured I'd share the build for anyone looking to do something similar. Santa filled my stocking with all sorts of Whoop related goodies this Christmas, so I'll have a couple more Whoop builds coming soon. They will all be running Silverware, but will have different frames, motors, and props, in order to keep their flying characteristics a bit different from one another. The little Kwad is built on a BetaFPV Evil Sleek Frame, and Canopy combo. It is running a BetaFPV Silverware Flight Controller, Tiny Whoop Bald Eagle Sauce 19,100kv 7x16mm motors, and Gemfan 31mm props. For camera/VTX duties it is running the BetaFPV Z02 AIO camera and M01 25mw VTX with OSD. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have. Edit-1/2/2020 Here is some DVR footage of a quick maiden flight. I still need to make a few settings changes in the DVR. I just got this Makerfire Mini DVR modified to work with my Fat Shark Predator V2 goggles.

There's a new 4s 4 inch coming our way in the style of the popular Toothpick. Although I don't think we can really consider it a Toothpick, the GEPRC Dolphin 153mm 4 Inch certainly looks interesting. Hopefully this means we might see a similar 5 inch set up in the near future

Happy Flying!! I was looking for an RC boat with a scale appearance that was both inexpensive, relatively slow, and easy to drive for the youngens when they come over to visit. The Flytec V001 RTR caught my eye, and so far it seems like it's just about perfect for what I wanted it for. It looks fantastic, and should look very realistic when running once I find a suitable driver figure. It could stand to be a little bit faster, but it'll probably be just right for inexperienced visitors, and my grandson as soon as he's old enough to start playing with RC models.
The boat does not have a servo for steering, instead it uses differential thrust to make left and right turns. When you steer one motor slows down, and the other motor speeds up to move the boat in your chosen direction. Because of this there is some speed lost when making turns, but it makes it very easy for kids to control the boat. All in all I must say I am pretty impressed with the boat, especially considering its cost of less than $40 shipped. Here are a few pics of the boat. I will get some running video posted shortly. Feel free to ask any questions you might have, and happy sailing! The new JJRC X6 Aircus Ready To Fly Drone is a very impressive package at a very reasonable price point. I hear the Eachine Tyro machines are a pretty good value in a 5 inch kit, so figured I'd build one and see for myself.
They spec out fairly nicely, and at the Tyro109's current price of $109 in the USA warehouse if it performs half decent it'll be hard to beat for a budget 5 inch quad. Package Includes: 1 x 210mm frame kit 2 x 2206 2400KV brushless motor CW 2 x 2206 2400KV brushless motor CCW 1 x 4 IN 1 30A BLHeli_S ESC 1 x Customized F4 flight controller 1 x Caddx Turbo Eos2 1200tvl 1 x XF5804 5.8G 40CH 0mw/25mw/200mw/600mw switchable VTX 2 x Battery strap 1x Antenna 2x 5040 four-blade propeller CW 2 x 5040 four-blade propeller CCW Will post updates as the build progresses. EDIT-8/26/2019 Made some progress today. Frame went together perfectly. The SG106 RTF (Ready To Fly) WiFi FPV Drone with Optical Flow Position Hold, dual cameras, and up to 20 minute flight times is now on sale for only $43.99 with free priority shipping.
Up close look, and flight video coming soon! My new TransTec Tiny Attack 66 66mm 1S brushless Tiny Whoop has arrived! I am very excited about this little guy. I am hoping it will be an excellent micro for indoor, and outdoor use in confined areas. Hoping to get in a few flights with it this afternoon. Here are a few pics. More pics, info, and flight video coming ASAP. It's worth noting that regardless of which color version you purchase, you will receive all 3 canopies, and all 3 different colors of prop guards, so don't pay more for a specific color. The package also includes a lead with connector for the receiver, so aside from soldering the lead to the contacts on your RX, there really is no soldering required to get the quad up and flying. The new Makerfire Armor Wasp RTF is a complete beginners FPV package. This excellent package includes a ready to fly 80mm Tiny Whoop drone, 2.4ghz radio transmitter, two 600mah 50c 3.7v 1s LiPo batteries, a USB charger, FPV goggles, and spare props. The only thing you need to start flying FPV is a couple AA batteries for the transmitter.
The best part is you get this whole package for only $99 so if you've been wanting to get into FPV drones, or Tiny Whoop's then look no further! |
