I've been looking forward to this ZD Racing 08425 1/8 RTR brushless buggy for a little while now. I wanted to get an inexpensive 1/8 platform to convert into a pavement punisher for high speed blasts up and down my street and driveway. I plan on using 3s in my driveway and 4s out in the street. After I get in a couple runs in completely stock form, I will be putting on some street tires, and a custom Delta Plastik USA cab forward body. My plan is to have a fast, fun, and good looking buggy, and a few battery packs for under $300 total. So far it seems my plan is coming together. I have ordered the Delta Plastik USA EVO DP body, and the street wheels/tires. Now I need to find a couple suitable 4s batteries so stay tuned! This should be fun! Here are some detailed pics and a parking lot speed run video. For ZD Racing spare and replacement parts in the USA visit EMP Hobby. They are located in Miami FL and carry virtually everything for ZD Racing cars and trucks. VIFLY is a relatively new FPV Racing Drone manufacturer, but they are diving in head first, and arriving with quite the bang! The new VIFLY R130 is an amazing looking quadcopter that is built from high quality components. This little racer is designed to be tough, fast, and user friendly. Aimed at pilots that are graduating from LOS quads, that are ready to get their feet wet in the world of FPV racers, this 130mm bird is loaded with features. For starters the model is available as a Frsky, Flysky, or Spektrum BNF. You also get the popular Omnibus F4 FC, BLHeli-S DShot 15A ESC's, 1306 4100kv motors, a 700TVL 1/4 inch CMOS FPV camera, and a 5.8ghz 40 channel VTX with 25mw/200mw/500mw power output options. They also include two full sets of DAL 3045 props, a prop wrench, and some rubber landing pads. All in all this is a very complete package for getting started. Just add your choice of radio, batteries, and charger, and you have yourself a very high quality, high performance racer. Speaking of high performance, VIFLY wanted to be sure you didn't outgrow your racer too quickly, so they made this quad capable of 3s and 4s power. For most getting started with FPV racing drones, 3s power is plenty, and is quite fast with 4100kv motors. You will eventually be ready for more speed, and punch though, and when you are, just strap in a 4s battery, and off you go. I will be posting video of this quad flying on both 3s and 4s so that you can see exactly what kind of performance to expect from each voltage so stay tuned. Here are some detailed pics of this racer. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. Happy Flying! The new WPL B-1 RTR Military Truck has arrived. I have to say that this thing looks really cool. It looks better than pics can really show. It is a toy though. (To be expected considering how little it costs) Unfortunately we get no proportional steering, and barely any proportional throttle. It appears however that the platform itself will be very easy to modify to accept hobby grade radio gear, and a steering servo.
I have only gotten a chance to cruise it around my basement for a few minutes, and it's not a bad driving experience. Many kids will probably get a lot of enjoyment out of it straight out of the box. Hobbyists will be underwhelmed by it even if only for the fact that the steering is so limited by its lack of digital proportional movement. I love the fact that the battery goes under the hood, and the working headlights made it pretty cool to drive with the lights off. I can see a lot of kids using this truck to compliment their G.I. Joe toys. I wish the doors opened, but it'll be easy enough to stuff a driver in through the window. Check out the pictures, and stay tuned for running video. |
